After the enjoyment I found making the Raku Dogs, I decided to have a little bit more fun, making a few Bunnies. Like the dogs, these are Raku fired outdoors, in a gas kiln to 1000º then dropped in to a chamber of wood shavings and smoked before being plunged into a bath of cold water. The Tin glaze is white and the thermal shock of being taken suddenly from the hot kiln causes it to craze and crackle. This crackle and any part of the bunny not glazed is picked out in black, having been carbonized by the smoke.
