Here is a collection of photos of my three new pieces, longdog busts based loosely on the old phrenology heads of the victorians. The sculptures are brush decorated in soot black pigment, high in cobalt oxide, glazed over with a stoneware zinc glaze and fired to 1260º.

These three have all found homes now, but I have been commissioned to make others and am happy to discus further pieces. Due to the nature of the brushwork it is impossible to paint on sculptures of very fluffy dogs. Wavy coats like spaniels and flat coated retrievers are generally ok though.

The commissioned piece will be a bust of your dog, decorated all over with it's life, it's dreams and whatever makes it happy and tick. The owner and family can be accommodated within the design, it's all open for discussion.
